MANUELITAS CREEK-NEW MEXICO:
After several flooding events, the riverbanks had eroded and washed away with the bridge that was located there and was the main access to the client’s property. Because the client needed a fast way to save their new bridge and riverbanks, we used a hard armor with setback technique that consisted of placing large boulders along the banks. We also kept the riparian vegetation as much as possible. In this particular case, where the system is constantly flood flashing after a wildfire in the area, we couldn’t apply a process-based technique.

GUADALUPITA-NEW MEXICO:
The goal of this project was to make the property’s road passable again. A combination of burn scar runoff and spring seepage from underground turned this property into literal quicksand. The property is now accessible thanks to a combination of drainage ditches and stone stabilization . We also dredge the pond in the client’s property using a mini excavator, some mud mats, and a lot of operating expertise. We were able to remove sediments from the bottom of the pond that had completely filled, in this case, mainly from runoff material after HPCC Fire in Mora, NM.
